The Resources Regulator (part of NSW Resources) are seeking a Senior Inspector Environment to manage regulatory functions and community liaison related to NSW minerals exploration, mining, and petroleum industries. With a focus on effective environmental management and land rehabilitation, you will assist in the development and implementation of strategic regulatory approaches to enable as well as ensure industry complies with environmental regulations through inspections, assessments, and audits. You’ll also: Provide specialist advice to ensure that the Resources Regulator’s rehabilitation security deposit calculation process is robust and consistently applied across industry. Provide reports, recommendations, and follow-up on corrective actions to mitigate environmental risks and achieve sustainable rehabilitation outcomes. Collaborate with stakeholders, including industry, government agencies, and community groups, to promote sustainable practices and resolve environmental issues. Advise on policy development and contribute to enhancing environmental legislation.
To be successful you’ll need to: Hold and maintain a current Class C driver licence as well as the ability willingness to travel as required. Have tertiary qualifications relevant to NSW mining legislation, environmental or natural resources management, sciences, or engineering (or qualifications deemed equivalent by the Department).
