An exciting senior management opportunity currently exists for a Manager Project Services to lead and manage the Project Services Branch in successfully delivering infrastructure, built form, and development projects through the whole project lifecycle.Applications are invited from progressive and passionate people leaders to deliver Council's capital programs, ensuring all safety, cost, time, quality, and scope objectives from planning through post-completion are met. Leading a team of up to 30 (depending on project commitments), the Manager Project Services will be responsible for developing and implementing best practices in project planning and management, delivering expert advice on capital works initiatives, and cultivating positive relationships with stakeholders to achieve optimal results for Council.Key Responsibilities include: Overseeing the Project Services Branch and relevant TRC capital programs to ensure the successful delivery of infrastructure projects.Developing and implementing best practice planning, development, and implementation management systems for capital programs to ensure safe, fit for purpose, and value for money infrastructure delivery.Managing the day-to-day activities of the Branch, ensuring cost effectiveness and KRAs, KPIs, and goals of the projects, Branch, and Council are achieved effectively and efficiently.Providing expert technical, project management, and commercial advice to various stakeholders relating to the planning, development, initiatives, and implementation of capital works programs for the region.Formulating and managing the Branch budget including capital delivery, operation and administrative functions, and the preparation of reports for key stakeholders.Key Skills and Experience include: Possession of a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or other relevant discipline from a recognised tertiary institution, and extensive relevant experience.Possession of a Master of Project Management and/or AIPM CPPD/E certification with extensive experience in formal project management/program management and project managing the delivery of major infrastructure projects OR eligibility to obtain within 12 months.Substantial knowledge and understanding of contract law and legislation applicable to the Public Sector, project delivery, construction, and development.Demonstrated ability and experience in formulating, providing initiative, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating projects and programs, as well as the ability to undertake the control and coordination of a major project using a Project Management Framework.Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in the development and implementation of strategies to deal with contemporary issues and provide high level customer service.The successful applicant will be rewarded with a supportive and progressive work environment and will be engaged on an Executive renewable contract.
