A high-performing state school in Glen Waverley is seeking a passionate and innovative Drama and Media Teacher for a fixed-term, full-time contract commencing in Term 1. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned Drama and Media lessons, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of media concepts and dramatic arts.
This role requires a commitment to preparing students for assessments while promoting a positive, inclusive classroom environment. The teacher will work closely with colleagues to support student achievement and may have opportunities to contribute to relevant extracurricular activities in the arts.
Key Duties:
* Deliver engaging Drama and Media lessons in alignment with curriculum standards.
* Teach core concepts in Drama and Media, highlighting real-world and practical applications.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support growth.
* Tailor lessons to accommodate diverse learning needs and foster an inclusive classroom.
* Manage classroom behavior to create a positive, dynamic learning environment.
* Collaborate with colleagues on school initiatives and arts-related programs.
Skills & Experience:
* Completed relevant Qualifications in Education.
* Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration.
* Have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
* Demonstrate previous experience as a Media and Drama Teacher - Graduates are welcome to apply too!
* Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
