The Department: The Alfred Cancer Program is responsible for the overall delivery of a comprehensive cancer service which involves a number of clinical areas and units including; Medical Oncology, Clinical Haematology, Bone Marrow Transplant, Apheresis, State-wide Haemophilia Service, Radiation Oncology, Clinical Trials, Palliative Care, and the Victorian Melanoma Service.
The Alfred Health Clinical Haematology service offers a multidisciplinary setting for the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of the entire range of haematological diseases.
The Role: Alfred Cancer is seeking Administrative Patient Navigators who are an integral part of the haematology multi-disciplinary team, playing an important role in providing the first line response to incoming calls from patients, carers, and referrers in the community.
They are experts in supporting patient flow through the cancer care system and in facilitating timely patient access.
Patient Navigators provide administrative support for multidisciplinary team meetings as well as ensuring patient appointments are scheduled and billed appropriately.
This role directly supports both Clinical Nurse Consultants and Nurse Practitioners working within Haematology.
Skills and Experience Required: Personable, customer-focused approach, and commitment to high-quality servicePrevious health service administration experience including Health IT systems i.e.
