Details: Children Youth and Families Division within the Community Services Directorate (CSD) is seeking applications from suitable candidates for the position of Assistant Director, Placements.
The Assistant Director, Placements role provides enabling functions for operational staff to access suitable family or community options and facilitates appropriate placements for children and young people who are not able to continue residing with their families.
The role is responsible for maintaining professional relationships with the out of home care (OOHC) sector and ongoing development of quality placements, by providing strong leadership and ensuring the Placements Team delivers outcomes that support a continuum of care for our clients whilst meeting our statutory obligations.
The role works collaboratively and flexibly within the Placement and Referrals Service, and at times duties will encompass the needs of the whole unit.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:
Mandatory:
1. At least 3 years practice experience working with children, young people, and their carers or families is essential.
2. Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
3. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, Social Science, or a related discipline are desirable but not essential.
4. As the successful candidate will work with, or is likely to work, with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and young people, cultural awareness and capacity to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is highly desirable for this position.
