The Senior Network Engineer leads the design, implementation, and support of our network infrastructure. As a key technical authority, they will ensure our network environment remains stable, scalable, and secure, providing high-quality solutions that serve both internal and external customers. Specifically, they will:
Manage and resolve complex network challenges, design and deploy network solutions, coordinate system changes, and monitor connectivity and performance across multi-vendor platforms. Identify and execute improvements in processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of network services. Collaborate with service desk teams, system administrators, and product developers, offering expert-level guidance on connectivity and infrastructure. Contribute to the design and implementation of secure gateways, including remote and mobile communications. Maintain and update comprehensive network documentation, including operational procedures. Skills & Experience Strong background working in gateway environments with proficiency in diagnosing and repairing LAN and WAN issues. Hands-on experience with networking hardware such as switches, routers, wireless access points, controllers, and firewalls. Familiarity with risk management principles and Australian Government information security requirements. Demonstrated analytical thinking and proactive problem-solving abilities, with a capacity to quickly master new technologies. History of identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to manage tasks, prioritise work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment. Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria Professional certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, JNCIP-ENT, Network+, WCNA). Must be an Australian citizen.
