The role
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of essential materials across Queensland Health facilities. Your duties will include the manual loading and unloading of vehicles using roll-on/roll-off trolleys, tallboys, pallets, and roll cages, while adhering to established schedules, procedures, and safety standards. You will operate within Queensland Government road rules and the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), maintaining accurate vehicle logs, completing pre-operational checks, and ensuring compliance with fatigue management regulations. Maintaining vehicle cleanliness in line with infection control standards and reporting any defects or incidents promptly are also essential aspects of this role.
You will work collaboratively within a supportive team environment, contributing to operational goals and upholding a high standard of customer service during all client interactions. Demonstrating strong communication skills, resilience, and a positive attitude, you will navigate challenges effectively and maintain productive working relationships. Opportunities may arise to perform third-party freight tasks, make courier deliveries, or operate additional vehicles when required. A valid Medium Rigid, Heavy Rigid, or Multi-Combination license is mandatory, with a Forklift or High Risk to Work license considered advantageous.

The COVID-19 Supply Chain Surety Division (CSCSD) was established in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to manage the unprecedented demand for personal protective equipment (PPE) and other critical medical supplies locally and internationally. The division amalgamated some existing teams and functions critical to Queensland Health's supply response for the duration of the pandemic, including Strategic Procurement, Supply Chain Services, Central Pharmacy, Finance Transactional Services. This Division is also leading the implementation of the Queensland Government Critical Supply Reserve (QGCSR).
