About the role
The Townsville University Hospital Psychology Department delivers clinical, health, and neuropsychology services to adult and paediatric inpatients and outpatients of the Townsville University Hospital (TUH) and North Queensland region. The Psychology Service provides access to psychological assessments and interventions that contribute to the patient's ongoing clinical management and care.
The renal Psychologist is responsible for provision of frontline clinical services to renal inpatient wards, outpatient clinical services (including telehealth), and support to multidisciplinary teams.
The position will be required to:
Deliver psychology services within the inpatients and outpatients of TUH renal services, in partnership with patients, the multidisciplinary team, and relevant stakeholders. Carry out psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention for individuals with chronic conditions including chronic kidney disease. Provide brief psychological interventions and therapy to those experiencing emotional difficulties and in response to a co-morbid health condition. What's on offer?
Permanent Full-time, 76 hours per fortnight.
Remuneration package of up to $132,567 p.a., comprising base salary range of $79,051 - $116,189 p.a. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (HP3), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).

Role requirements
Applicants must possess an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited four-year qualification in Psychology and be eligible for provisional or general registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Psychology Board of Australia (PsychBA).
While not mandatory, a PsychBA Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology would be highly regarded, as would PsychBA approved Supervisor status.
