About the opportunity
The School of Psychology is currently seeking a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology (identified) with expertise and experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social and emotional wellbeing. This individual will primarily work within the Clinical Psychology Unit to support staff to bring together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and clinical knowledges and contribute to the Master of Clinical Psychology teaching program. The individual will also contribute to undergraduate teaching and efforts to Indigenise the undergraduate curriculum.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
o contribute to clinical teaching and supervision in the Master of Clinical Psychology program, with an emphasis on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social and emotional wellbeing
o contribute to undergraduate teaching and efforts to Indigenise the undergraduate curriculum
o lead and support the development of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research stream
o foster culturally responsive clinical teaching onto the Master of Clinical Psychology program
o work with the Clinical Psychology Unit and the broader School to develop a culturally safe environment for students and staff across undergraduate and clinical programs.
About you

o an accredited Masters or Doctorate in clinical psychology
o a PhD in psychology or related field and/or research experience
o identified as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
o registration and an Area of Practice Endorsement in clinical psychology with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
o approval as a supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia
o expertise in mental health and social and emotional wellbeing
o experience in bringing cultural and clinical knowledges together in workplaces and in the delivery of psychology training programs.
This position has been designated for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only under the provisions of section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW). Applicants will be required to provide evidence to confirm that they are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as per the University's Confirmation of Identity Policy 2015.
To be eligible for this position, you must provide a statement and supporting documentation that addresses how you meet each of the following criteria for Aboriginality:
1. be of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent;
2. identify as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander;
3. be accepted as such by the community in which they live or have lived.

Supporting documentation may include, but is not limited to, a letter of Aboriginality signed under the common seal from a recognised incorporated Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community organisation such as Land Council or Elders group, Aboriginal Medical Service or a letter on letterhead from a Local Aboriginal Land Council demonstrating membership of the Council.
