This position will support a growing day surgery team with multiple locations, including Ballarat. Having achieved director of nursing level, you will be an experienced, professional RN with a strong background in providing anaesthesia and post-operative care to patients in a day surgery or hospital theatre setting. Along with admin and strategy duties, you will also be immersed in the following day-to-day clinical operations: Assist anaesthetist in administering anaesthesia and monitoring patients throughout the surgery. Ensure patients are safely brought out of anaesthesia and into the recovery phase. Monitor patients closely post-operation, assessing their condition, and managing pain as necessary, under the supervision of an anaesthetist and other senior health practitioners. Collaborate with practitioners, treatment and care plan coordinators, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Document patient care accurately and maintain medical records. Scan medical records and submit to the anaesthesia office. Assist in maintenance and orderly storage of adequate stock of medical equipment and medications. Assist anaesthesia and dental office staff in patient medical forms and administration. Attention to detail is paramount, as is your ability to provide warm, empathetic, and responsive patient care throughout their time spent with the surgery.
