Join to apply for the Manager (Technical Services) role at Department of Transport and Main Roads.In the role of Manager (Technical Services), you are responsible for ensuring availability of technical capacity, capability, and governance support across the technical functions of design, geospatial services, materials testing, cultural heritage and environment, and workplace health and safety, to the delivery of the program areas of Network Planning, Program Delivery, Corridor Management, Road Operations, and Major Projects.As a member of the District Leadership Team, you will consult and collaborate with project sponsors and program managers to determine program criteria and priorities.Accountabilities IncludeProvide vision & direction to the Technical Services (TS) function and ensure TS services and activities are delivered in alignment with state-wide priorities and goals.Ensure the application and management of technical and administrative governance frameworks to monitor compliance with policy, legislation, regulations, standards, and procedures associated with infrastructure activities.Implement strategies to ensure ongoing technical capability across services provided by TS, including permanent staff supplemented by contractors and external consultancies, in alignment with the needs of functional areas.Maintain a TS program of works and customer base by liaising with functional areas and other Managers (Technical Services) to ensure consistent allocation of resources, outputs, and standards in contributing to the delivery of the state-wide program and priorities.Coordinate the engagement of consultants and monitor performance in accordance with contractual arrangements.Provide authoritative advice to the District Director and program managers on TS issues.About YouWe recognise and celebrate that everyone is unique and seek the applicant best suited to the role.
