Site Reliability EngineerPeoplebank is recruiting for a 6 month initial contract with one of our large Australian clients. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a diverse organisation. There will be some on call aspects for this role with overtime paid. (Overtime can be done WFH) A Site Reliability DevOps Engineer contributing to a high-performing Operations (SRE) team, actively developing their expertise and skillset. This role focuses on maintaining business-critical applications and infrastructure while identifying and implementing technical and process enhancements. Working collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders, the engineer will drive the development and maintenance of cutting-edge, world-class solutions.What the ideal candidate looks like:Proficient in working with and supporting high-traffic, high-transaction web applications.Skilled in managing infrastructure platforms such as CloudFront, WAF, load balancers, proxies, DNS, and automating provisioning and deployments.Experienced in utilizing Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.Proven expertise in performing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles, supporting applications with significant operational, performance, security, and availability requirements.Proficient in developing dashboards using tools such as New Relic, Grafana, Geckoboard, and similar dashboarding solutions.Skilled in monitoring and logging tools including New Relic, AppDynamics, Datadog, Sumo Logic, and Splunk.Extensive experience with AWS and other cloud providers like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure.Knowledgeable in web application security practices and compliance programs like PCI-DSS and ISM.Proficient in administering and troubleshooting Linux distributions such as Red Hat, CentOS, or equivalent.Experienced in supporting API gateways such as Kong, CA API Gateway, AWS API Gateway, and Apigee.Skilled in working with container platforms, including Docker, Amazon ECS, and Fargate.Familiar with database technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.Deep understanding of cloud applications, architectural patterns, and infrastructure design principles.Experienced with scripting languages such as Python and Node.js.Key responsibilities include:Continuously refining and optimizing development and delivery practices for tools, platforms, and patterns.Driving technical initiatives and automations in a collaborative manner, while influencing discussions with stakeholders.Ensuring the availability, security, scalability, and operational readiness of cloud-based solutions.Promoting and embedding DevOps/SRE principles within the team and across broader delivery groups.Improving observability practices by advancing dashboards, toolsets, and related systems.Benefits:Access to our EAP program.Based in the East - close to PTV and close to home.Weekly Pay.Dedicated contractor care team.Apply ASAP!
