About the role: Manager Asset Management Ballarat City Council is a vibrant, dynamic regional hub located in the heart of Victoria, offering a rich historical heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and a thriving arts scene. The Manager Asset Management reports directly to the Executive Manager Infrastructure and plays a critical role in leading the Asset Management team through a period of growth and transformation. This position oversees three sub-teams covering strategic asset planning, operational surveillance, and asset systems. The focus will be on driving improvements in asset management frameworks, ensuring sustainable management of infrastructure assets, and fostering a cohesive, high-performing team environment. Key responsibilities include delivering long-term asset management plans, managing asset condition data, developing capital renewal programs, and ensuring asset compliance with the Road Management Plan. This role will also work closely across departments, providing strategic advice and ensuring asset management is fully integrated into the organisation’s broader planning and operational processes. About you You are an experienced leader with strong technical expertise in asset management, ready to step up into a senior leadership role. Your background in civil engineering, asset management, or related disciplines provides you with the foundation to drive strategic initiatives while managing the day-to-day operations of a diverse and growing team. You excel at building relationships, influencing across departments, and fostering collaboration to achieve organisational goals. Your ability to develop, mentor, and lead teams will be crucial as you grow and shape the Asset Management unit. Ideally, you have experience working in local government or a similar environment, with a deep understanding of infrastructure asset planning, data management, and lifecycle modelling. A passion for asset innovation and continuous improvement will ensure you thrive in this role.
