About the Role:
As the Senior BDM for NSW, you will identify and engage with key projects, end-users, civil contractors, and tier-one contractors in the Water & Wastewater sectors. Your focus will be on securing product approvals and specifications for major projects. You'll lead strategic customer and project activities in your territory, prepare and submit quotes and tenders, and drive product awareness through presentations. You'll also oversee the full product lifecycle, ensuring coordination in stock levels, pricing, marketing, and promotions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the wider business to ensure a comprehensive product offering. You will maintain close relationships, and coordinating product and marketing efforts within the business.
2. Drive product specification by engaging with consultants, specifiers, water authorities, and councils to influence key projects.
3. Represent the company at trade shows and participate in relevant industry groups and organisations to maintain market presence.
4. Support the Sales Team and the broader market, ensuring alignment with the company's vision and goals.
5. Drive sales and project activity in NSW and, where applicable, in other states. Coordinate strategic direction with the Sales Team to achieve sales targets, maximize revenue and margins, and maintain accurate forecasts.
6. Identify early sales opportunities and work with the Sales Team to develop strategic, coordinated approaches to meet agreed strike rates.
7. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, influencers, and specifiers. Lead the Sales Team in prospecting and targeting customers for increased growth and establish business plans for effective customer management.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you’ll have:
1. Proven experience as a sales professional within the valve industry, with a strong understanding of the Water and Wastewater sectors.
2. A background working with key stakeholders, Tier 1 contractors, and a demonstrated history of successfully delivering large-scale projects.
3. Demonstrated success in driving business growth within these key markets, particularly in the water and wastewater markets.
4. Results-driven and committed to delivering.
5. A good communicator, able to collaborate and customer-focused.
6. Able to understand complex engineering concepts and communicate effectively with technical teams.
7. Meticulous attention to detail when preparing costings, quotations, and technical literature to ensure accuracy.
8. Comfortable with travel and overnight stays as required to manage territory and client relationships.
