We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Team Leader to join the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI)’s Compliance Team in the Murwillumbah region. The role will report to the Director of Compliance.
The Team Leader (Compliance) leads a team of specialists in the monitoring, investigation and resolution of complex compliance projects and matters relating to state significant development projects, to ensure development consent conditions, environmental management plans are being monitored and to take necessary regulatory action in accordance with the Department’s policies.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead the team’s implementation of the broader Compliance Team’s business plan commitments including:
4. resolution of complaints
5. investigations into alleged non compliance
6. proactive inspections of facilities
7. review of compliance related documents
8. strategic compliance activities
9. mentoring and upskilling of team members and
10. contributing to the Compliance teams overall strategic direction
Essential Requirements
11. Degree qualification in planning, environmental management, law, engineering or other relevant discipline.
12. Detailed knowledge of legislation and policies governing land use planning and regulation
13. Strong ability to work to tight and / or shifting deadlines.
