Westmont Montessori School is currently seeking applications for our Administrative on-call list. This position promotes the Westmont philosophy through positive interactions with staff, students, parents, and prospective families.
Suitable candidates must possess a friendly, nurturing, yet professional demeanor, as they will be the first point of contact for the school. All applicants must have experience with reception and general office duties, be open to assisting with all aspects of office duties, and daily operations with courtesy, patience, and excellent communication. Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality is essential.
It is highly desired that the successful applicant has had previous administration and some accounting experience, preferably in an independent or public school.
Additionally, the successful applicant must be highly organized with excellent attention to detail, understand priorities, and complete work efficiently in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
Westmont Montessori School is a highly regarded independent Montessori school in Victoria, BC, Canada, offering education from preschool through grade twelve. Qualifications
1. A minimum of 1 year administrative job experience, preferably in a similar office/reception environment.
2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
3. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Willingness to work in a team-oriented environment.
5. Commitment to ongoing professional growth.
6. Current First Aid Certificate, CPR, and AED.
Duties
1. Respond to telephone, email, and counter inquiries from students, staff, parents, and the community. Provide information, direct visitors, take and track student attendance, take messages, or refer accordingly. Maintain the online school calendar.
2. Schedule and coordinate photo days, immunizations, field trips, and bus transportation.
3. Update daily whiteboard, daily daycare postings, and activity lists. Order school supplies, office supplies, book teachers on call, pick up and deliver mail, and back up to the Admissions Coordinator when needed.
4. Assist with additional administrative tasks as assigned.
