This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is hands-on, driven, and capable of leading a team in a dynamic workshop environment.About the roleWe are seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead, coordinate, and oversee all workshop activities. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and high-quality manufacturing of water carts, service modules, flat tray, tippers and any warranty works.This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to optimise workshop operations while ensuring compliance with WHS, ADR, and Australian Standards. You will work closely with engineers, production teams, suppliers, and senior management to ensure that workshop output aligns with project deadlines, quality standards, and customer expectations.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage a team of welders, fabricators, fitters, and apprentices, ensuring high performance and motivation.Plan and coordinate daily workshop activities, prioritising workload, resources, and deadlines.Ensure compliance with WHS, ADR, and Australian Standards (AS1554, AS3990, AS4100) in all fabrication and assembly processes.Conduct toolbox meetings, risk assessments, and safety briefings to maintain a safe working environment.Oversee fabrication and welding processes, ensuring accuracy, quality, and structural integrity of components.Work closely with the engineering team to interpret technical drawings and BOMs, ensuring correct fabrication and fitment.Monitor and maintain stock levels of raw materials, consumables, and tools, placing orders as required.Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the timely delivery of parts and services.Troubleshoot technical and production issues, implementing solutions to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.Manage and optimise workshop layouts, workflow, and production processes to enhance operational efficiency.Conduct staff training and mentoring, fostering skill development and professional growth within the team.Ensure all quality control measures are met and implement continuous improvement initiatives.Report on production progress, issues, and recommendations to senior management.What We’re Looking ForProven experience as a Workshop Supervisor, Leading Hand, or Foreman in truck body manufacturing, heavy fabrication, or plant equipment assembly.Strong technical background in welding, fabrication, mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and BOMs to ensure accurate fabrication.Experience working with Australian Design Rules (ADR), AS1554 welding standards, and other industry regulations.Hands-on leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and develop workshop personnel.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to troubleshoot workshop challenges.High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders.Proficiency in workshop scheduling, stock management, and production tracking systems.Ability to adapt to changing project priorities and tight deadlines.Forklift, overhead crane, or HR license (preferred but not essential).What We OfferA stable, long-term career opportunity with a rapidly growing company.
