About the Role:
We are seeking multiple Triggers in WA to join Australia's leading Tier 1 Enterprise organisation. You will be responsible for building greenfield and upgrading and modifying existing wireless telecommunication sites, including Mobile, Fixed Wireless, and Broadcast. You will also be responsible for the installation, erection, and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure, including monopoles, antennas, and towers, to ensure efficient and effective network rollouts and upgrades.
Responsibilities:
Site Upgrades and Modifications: Perform upgrades and modifications on existing wireless telecommunication sites, including installing mobile/broadcast antenna systems, Remote Radio Units (RRU), feeders, and Microwave Links.
Steelwork and Tower Installations: Install and erect steelwork, monopoles, towers, and other structures on Greenfield and Co-Location (Co-Lo) sites.
(RF) Cable Installation and Testing: Install, test, and maintain hybrid cables, perform PIM testing, sweep testing, distance to fault testing, and ensure proper bird-proofing and waterproofing of connectors.
Technical Interpretation: Read, interpret, and execute construction and As-built drawings, ensuring all work meets specifications and standards.
Equipment Operation: Check, maintain, and operate equipment according to safety, efficiency, and calibration procedures.
General Rigging Work: Perform general rigging work as required, including site constructability inspections and managing scope changes.
Experience and Skills Required:
Certified Rigger: Must hold intermediate or advanced rigging certifications along with all required Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) certifications.
Telecommunications Experience: Minimum of 2 years in telecommunications rigging in new site builds and upgrades.
Industry Standards: Familiarity with Optus, NBN, and Telstra installation standards, and experience with Ericsson radio telecommunications equipment and cabling is preferred.
Structural Upgrades: Ability to perform structural upgrades to telecommunications infrastructure.
RF Plumbing: Solid understanding and experience with RF plumbing in modern and complex Radio Access Network (RAN) rollouts.
Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret technical construction drawings, prepare acceptance artifacts, and possess strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Safety and Compliance: Construction industry white card, RF Hazard Awareness Training, and adherence to strict safety standards.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours and the ability to operate comfortably at heights regularly (up to 80 meters), with necessary certifications for Working at Heights and Perform Tower Rescue.
Positive Attitude: Demonstrates a positive and enthusiastic “can do” attitude.
