As the Senior Database Administrator, some of your responsibilities will include:
• Manage database configurations including installing and upgrading software while maintaining relevant procedures and documentation. Assess proposed changes to database structures and deploy those changes to physical databases.
• Monitor database activity, resource usage and take corrective action where necessary to resolve problems to optimise database performance and database capacity planning.
• Maintain specialist knowledge of database concepts, design principles and architectures while contributing to the development of standards for databases and ensuring compliance to these standards.
• Produce database components as required for ICT projects and provide leadership whilst working within small technical teams. Monitor teamwork queue and allocate tasks to ensure Service Level Agreements are met.
• Perform ITIL incident, problem, release and change management related activities as required.
Requirements of the role:
• Oracle and SQL Server Database Administrator to provide ICT operational and project support for TMR applications and services. provide high level technical database administration and support for the department's on-premise and cloudbased enterprise systems.
• Knowledge with AWS/Azure database administration support including migration workloads from on premises to the cloud solutions.
• Focus on Automation and Scripting including but not limited to Database scripting such as PL\SQL, TSQL and OS scripting such as Bash, PowerShell.
• Experience with PostgreSQL database administration.
• Oracle cloud infrastructure requires expertise with Oracle Multitenant Architecture, Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle Data Guard, Transparent Data Encryption.
