With over 700 dedicated professionals across Brisbane and regional offices, we work tirelessly to ensure that Queensland's communities, businesses, and water resources thrive.The RoleAs a Principal Stakeholder Relationship Officer, you will establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders ensuring effective liaison and consultation between government, and those living and working in rural and regional Queensland.Key Accountabilities:Develop and implement a regional engagement plan that will assist in identifying and responding to emerging issues impacting your region. Identify strategies and initiatives of various government bodies (local, state and federal) and organisations (not-for-profit and industry bodies) targeted to the region, and their impacts. Assist in identifying and analysing complex policy issues with a view to developing options and providing advice. Prepare or contribute to the preparation of timely and well-researched presentations, communication materials, briefs and submissions on complex issues. Support senior officers with preparation for inter-departmental meetings and represent the Department at meetings and local events as required. Support visits to your region by the Minister, Director-General and other senior departmental representatives, which may include preparing visit programs and providing logistical assistance. Promote departmental initiatives, programs and events in your region to ensure awareness and engagement. About YouThere are no mandatory requirements for this role however, possession of qualifications and/or extensive experience in project management, community engagement or a related field is desirable. Exceptional communication and stakeholder relationship building skills. Travel away from the centre will be required. It is desirable that applicants reside in the relevant region with a current knowledge of local issues and opportunities. Possession of a valid driver's license.
