Summary:
Temporary Role (12 months) reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and repair of all mechanical equipment in their Value Stream in compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements. A significant feature of this role is to minimize equipment downtime thus optimizing overall plant performance.
Responsibilities:
* Provide high level technical support in a high-volume environment and work with and advise suppliers and engineers on process and product design to facilitate greater production efficiencies.
* Troubleshoot equipment related process problems and equipment failures to determine root cause and to investigate repairs.
* Assist in developing and driving ongoing and preventative maintenance programmes.
* Maintain accurate data for analysis on equipment.
* Support Engineering and Production personnel on continuous improvements and monitor equipment in order to recommend process improvements.
* Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects that use lean and six sigma tools to improve overall business efficiency.
* Contribute to fostering a culture of innovation through identifying innovative solutions to process problems and actively encouraging team members to share new ideas.
Work Experience Requirements:
* 4+ years' experience preferably in medical devices and/or pharmaceutical industries.
* Experience in a position of responsibility in management or leading of a technical team.
Education Requirements:
* Must Possess a Fás Mechanical Time-served Apprenticeship with Junior and Senior Trades.
Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:
Skills and Experience - Essential:
* Candidates must be able to demonstrate the application of multi-skilling in previous employment.
* The role involves working in a cross-functional team therefore strong communication skills coupled with excellent analytical and problem solving skills are prerequisites for this role.
* Good computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
* Ability to develop and maintain work lists for continuous improvement.
* Ability to drive continuous improvement via observation.
* Excellent drive and self-motivation.
* Ability to work proactively in a team environment.
* Capable of clearly articulating issues, effects, and potential causes.
Skills and Experience - Desirable:
* An understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools would be an advantage.
* Familiar with clean rooms and clean room manufacturing environments.
* Pneumatics and reading pneumatic drawings.
* Laser cutting / printing.
* PDCA, DIMAIC training.
* Familiar with Servo & Stepper Drives.
* Punch presses.
* Ultrasonic Punching / cutting.
* Pumps, & flow control.
* Familiar with Sensors, inductive, capacitive, through beam.
* Control systems, PLCs, Distributed control, Bus systems.
* Familiar with HVAC, and humidity control.
* Jig and fixture design.
* Heat sealing steady state & Impulse sealing.
Candidates must be prepared to work a 24/7 Shift - 12 hour days / nights on a 4 cycle shift pattern.
