Job Description
Reporting to the Asset and Maintenance Manager, you will be working as part of a team who are responsible for providing a cost-effective condition-based maintenance service to ensure the reliability and availability of existing and new equipment at our Victorian Country Sites located in Elmore, Nullawil, Telford and Woorinen. This role will assist with the identification and implementation of business improvement initiatives and capital improvement projects that improve plant availability and optimise capability.
Responsibilities
* Work safely in accordance with the company’s safety principles and site policies.
* Ensure that all employees or contractors assisting with maintenance work are properly trained and competent for the tasks they perform.
* Responsible for applying safety systems, procedures and activities.
* Take a leadership role in the development, maintenance and deployment of safety systems within the Maintenance Department.
* Participate in incident investigations, near misses, safety observations and audits.
* Monitor the Hazard Risk Register for Maintenance Department and ensure maintenance tasks completed.
* Involve all stakeholders in process or engineering changes.
* Acquire a working knowledge of Isolation, Work Safe Permits, Job Safety Analysis and Modification Control.
* Undertake all planned preventative/conditional base maintenance services including corrective maintenance works with some minor capital works.
* Analyse, diagnose and repair faults in critical plant and equipment.
* Carry out repairs and maintenance to the requirements of the Asset and Maintenance Manager.
* Deal with new situations as they arise and cope with and solve the problems and have the ability to forward the knowledge and training onto other peers.
* Liaise with the Asset and Maintenance Manager regarding plant and equipment failures and request further assistance as needed.
* Assist and propose changes that may require to be made to working practices, policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions to comply with Legislative requirements and workplace efficiency.
* Undertake specialised training to learn new techniques and gain accreditation certification with new systems and plant, which will enhance career development and gain a higher level of theoretical and practical knowledge.
* Embrace and assist with the development the usage of new technologies in the areas of engineering maintenance and condition monitoring to move towards efficiency and cost savings.
* Only approved chemicals or products are used during maintenance work.
Skills, experience and competencies:
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Significant maintenance fitting experience.
* Knowledge and maintenance experience on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
* Present themselves and interact with others in a professional manner.
* Excellent time management and communication skills.
* Self-motivated and keen to satisfy customer needs.
* Self-managed and able to complete allocated work in a safe and efficient manner.

* Experience with heavy machinery maintenance is highly desirable.
* Applicants must hold a certificate in a relevant engineering/mechanical trade, ideally fitting, fitting and machining or heavy vehicle maintenance.
* Installation and/or maintenance experience on high-capacity mobile belt conveyors and bucket elevators.
* Fabrication and welding for repair and modification of plant.
* Experience with fixed plant.
* Experience with mobile plant.
* Welding – ARC, MIG, TIG.
* Experience in root cause analysis.
* Licenses to perform High Risk Work, IE Work Elevated Platform, Forklift, etc.
* A background in grain handling environment and experience is desirable.
* Systems is desirable (CMMS).
* Base electrical and automation knowledge.
