Utilise your problem solving skills in a practical setting Be a part of an inclusive, innovative, and diverse team Support impactful quality data collection projects At the National Transport Research Organisation (NTRO) we strive to be an innovation portal through which government and industry can gain great outcomes across all modes of transport.We create new knowledge through research, develop the means for improving practice, and provide expert advice to the Australia and New Zealand Transport Agencies and industry to ensure that our communities will always have safe, sustainable and efficient transportation networks.NTRO is a globally connected Not-for-profit, purpose and innovation-driven organisation that has over many decades built a strong presence within the Roads, Rail, Ports and Airports sectors which ensures that we cover all modes of the transport network in everything we do.Your next opportunity awaits at NTRO Want to be a part of a dynamic national team who is instrumental in the delivery of outcome-focused transport solutions, targeted at delivering innovative and fit-for-purpose Infrastructure outcomes?We are seeking capable, experienced, and safe-driving Road Data Collection Surveyors to join our national Infrastructure Measurement team.The positions will focus on the accurate and timely collection of road inventory and pavement condition surveys throughout Australia, New Zealand and Australasia, as required.The surveys are undertaken using our suite of surveying equipment, including NTRO's iPAVe (Intelligent Pavement Assessment Vehicle) and iSSAVe (Intelligent Safe Surface Assessment Vehicle) technologies, NSVs (Network Survey Vehicles) and FWDs (Falling Weight Deflectometers).We are seeking individuals who are keen and willing to travel and spend long periods of time in vehicles with one other colleague on a scheduled roster of 20 days in the field.As a member of the Infrastructure Measurement team, you will be responsible for: Routine field data collection and quality testing.Data processing and checking of survey information.Scheduled and unscheduled servicing, maintenance, and validations of various survey equipment.We seek individuals who have: A current, clean HC/HR class driver's license with at least 1000 hours' experience is desirable (a copy of your previous five years driving record will be required if interviewed).Mechanical or electronic trade experience (e.g.Auto Electrician, Electrician, IT or Mechanic.)Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software and is a competent user of Microsoft Office products.Previous road network survey experience (preferable).Previous FWD survey experience (preferable).A tolerant, flexible, and easy-going nature together with a professional customer service approach.A willingness to learn and the ability to work under close instruction Previous experience with automated pavement data capture is desirable.Essential: Travel and spending long periods of time in vehicles with only one colleague is a key element and candidates must have good personal hygiene, be patient and thoughtful -
