OverviewAs an Electrical Engineering Co-op in the Waters Global Research organization, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers responsible for the early development of next generation technologies used in chromatography and mass spectrometry analytical instrumentation.
You will assist in the design, build, and test of prototype mechanical, electrical, and software components required to develop proof-of-concept prototype instruments used to solve some of the world's most intractable analytical problems.ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot electro/mechanical problems in a variety of instruments and equipment.Assemble & test various electro/mechanical instruments and assemblies to meet department goals and objectives.Assist department scientists and engineers in understanding characteristics and limits of new design ideas.Be capable of lab testing of circuits using electrical test equipment including logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and emulators.Interpret design documentation as well as verbal instructions to characterize new designs.Work effectively in both an individual and cross-functional team environment.QualificationsWorking towards a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.Desire to learn and apply scientific/engineering principles in a research environment.Basic electrical, mechanical, and chemical knowledge.Experience in programming embedded microcontrollers.Experience with programming languages C/C++, Python.Data collection, graphing, and interpretation skills.Self-motivated.Good written and verbal communication skills.Strong computer skills.
