About the role
South West Healthcare's (SWH) South Western Centre Against Sexual Assault (SWCASA) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced clinicians for a Counsellor/Advocate position within the Heart program. Heart, (For Healing, Empowerment and Recovery from Family Violence) is a therapeutic family violence program which offers an enhanced collaborative service response to maximise recovery and healing for adults and children who have experienced family violence.

As a SWCASA Counsellor/Advocate within the Heart Program, you will be providing individual therapeutic counselling and evidence-based group interventions to the client group. You will also support the SWCASA intake team in progressing the Heart referrals and assessments through to allocation within the Heart partnership.
This role joins our broader SWCASA team, who provide specialised counselling to children, young people and adults who have experienced sexual assault or family violence, and to their non-offending family or support networks. We also provide intervention and support to children and young people who engage in harmful sexual behaviour.
Reporting to a SWCASA Team Leader and joining the broader Heart partnership, you will be supported by highly skilled and qualified clinicians and receive regular clinical and group supervision.
Position overview
* Part-time (48 hours per fortnight), On-going position
* Flexibility also for additional FTE within the intake and therapeutic service streams at SWCASA for interested/suitable candidates
* Warrnambool Campus with outreach across SW region
* Social Worker Grade 2
* Salary Range: $88,467.30 $101,691.20 pro rata, plus superannuation
What you bring
With a tertiary qualification in social work or similar, you will have experience in delivering therapeutic interventions, case management and risk assessments. With a comprehensive understanding of the issues relating to sexual assault and family violence within a gendered context, you will have significant knowledge and expertise in working therapeutically with children, young people and adults within a trauma informed framework.
The successful applicant will have excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work autonomously and within a team. You will be a values driven person who shares our vision for a community free from family violence and sexual assault.
