About the Role:
TP Human Capital is looking for a Safety and Compliance Officer for a standard hour 9-day fortnight role based remotely. This role focuses on ensuring the safety of all staff and contractors. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining compliance with safety regulations and promoting a strong safety culture. The initial contract is for 6 months, with a possible 6-month extension.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor adherence to safety processes, including take-fives and SWMS.
* Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits.
* Oversee contractor compliance and provide guidance.
* Investigate and report incidents and near-misses.
* Stay updated with WHS legislation and implement necessary changes.
* Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
* Conduct or prepare content for toolbox meetings (e.g., heat management).
* Provide recommendations for improving safety management systems.
* Foster a collaborative working relationship with Indigenous community members.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Strong understanding of WHS principles and regulations.
* Proven experience in safety roles, preferably in remote or construction environments.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain one.
