The Lowy Institute is seeking a friendly and professional Receptionist/Office Assistant to ensure the smooth operation of our reception area. The Receptionist/Office Assistant is responsible for greeting visitors, answering phone calls, maintaining meeting rooms, managing the reception inbox and providing administrative support to the Lowy Institute. The Receptionist/Office Assistant will also assist the events team. Duties and Key Responsibilities Greet and welcome visitors, ensuring a positive first impression. Manage incoming phone calls and direct them appropriately. Maintain the organisation and cleanliness of meeting rooms. Oversee and respond to emails in the reception inbox. Provide administrative support to various Institute departments. Assist in coordinating events, working closely with the events team. Manage incoming and outgoing mail. Maintain office supplies and liaise with suppliers as needed. Skills and Experience The successful candidate will have excellent organisation skills with strong attention to detail, be proactive and a team player. As the front face of the Lowy Institute, the candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ideally, the candidate has a background in administrative roles and is motivated to support the Institute’s high-profile work. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Organisational skills with a keen eye for detail. Proficiency in basic office software, such as Microsoft Office Suite. Previous experience in a reception or administrative role. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Interest or background in international policy or non-profit environments.
