Apply now Mechanic NSW local GovernmentPosition: Council MechanicKey Responsibilities: Mechanical Maintenance: Provide high-quality and cost-effective mechanical maintenance services for a diverse range of Councils fleet assets, ensuring all activities meet high standards of quality construction and safety. Compliance: Adhere to manufacturers service and repair standards and specifications, ensuring the safety and compliance of fleet assets. Resource Utilisation: Utilise external resources as required to deliver services in a timely and cost-effective manner. Diagnosis and Repair: Demonstrate the technical ability to diagnose and repair complex vehicle and plant systems, including hydraulic, electrical, and engine driveline components. Liaison: Work directly with external service providers on technical issues to minimise diagnosis and repair times. Administrative Duties: Accurately and timely complete Councils electronic works maintenance records and safety documentation. Safety Reporting: Identify and report safety incidents, hazards, and near misses in Councils electronic WHS system. Training: Provide thorough and informed on-the-job training for others, including mentoring apprentices and inducting employees and visitors on new fleet assets. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively to achieve team objectives, ensuring operational goals are met within agreed timeframes and team productivity goals are achieved. Customer Service: Providing efficient and effective customer service, offering timely advice on maintenance issues and ensuring minimal disruption to asset users. Planning and Organisation: Apply proficient planning and organisational skills to minimise downtime of fleet assets, completing maintenance work to industry repair times and quality standards. Recommendations: Recommend and specify products and procedures to ensure the long-term functionality and serviceability of fleet assets.
