Role Overview : We are seeking a talented and motivated AO7 Economist to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping housing policy, analysing economic trends, and providing insightful recommendations to support the development of sustainable housing strategies. This is an AO7 6-month fixed term contract with the opportunity for permanency.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Conduct economic research and analysis related to housing markets, affordability, and policy impacts.
2. Develop economic models to forecast housing demand and supply trends.
3. Evaluate the economic implications of current and proposed housing policies.
4. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and government stakeholders.
5. Collaborate with other government departments, academic institutions, and industry experts to inform policy decisions.
6. Monitor and analyse economic data, including housing prices, rental markets, and demographic trends.
7. Provide expert advice on economic issues affecting the housing sector.
About you:
8. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
9. Proven experience in economic research and analysis, preferably within the housing sector.
10. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in statistical software and economic modeling.
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
12. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
13. Knowledge of Queensland’s housing market and policy landscape is highly desirable.
