Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Registrar – Palliative Care. In this role, on a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for liaising and collaborating with other treating clinicians for both public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital, Aged Care, and Community settings. The Rural Generalist Palliative Care Registrar position is accredited by the GP colleges and Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). Training and Accreditation Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) - 12 months Advanced Specialised Training term in Palliative Care to train registrars on all ACRRM pathways. Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) - 6 months Extended Skills training and 12 months Advanced Skills training. RACP - accreditation for Foundations in Palliative Medicine. THS – North West Region also has a close working relationship with the University of Tasmania's Rural Clinical School. Team Structure The team comprises four palliative care consultants and currently two other palliative care registrars. The medical practitioners work across the MCH and NWRH, as well as the community, alongside palliative care nursing staff. Details of Appointment Multiple, Fixed term, full-time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 3 February 2025 until 1 February 2026. You will receive 10 hours of paid, protected training time per fortnight, pro rata. Medical Practitioner Level 5 - 11 $131,000 - $183,500 per annum, pro rata + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging. Essential Criteria General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Enrolled in the relevant speciality training program. Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role.
