The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for Various Positions - Network Operations Officers PSL6 and PSL5 within Cyber Security Branch. The Information Services Division (ISD) delivers ICT to the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) staff as well as all other users of the Parliamentary computing network and ICT facilities. Within ISD, the Network Operations team is responsible for a variety of services and ICT capabilities, including the physical network infrastructure such as the local and wide area networks, gateway, load balancing and wireless technologies. The Network Operations Officer PSL6 is responsible for contributing to the ongoing sustainment and operations of network technologies and infrastructure within the Department of Parliamentary Services. As a Network Operations Officer, you will be responsible for proactively responding to complex incidents, identifying environmental issues, monitoring systems and resolving problems, implementing changes and other IT service management processes across the operations of parliamentary network capabilities. The Network Operations Officer PSL5 is responsible for participating in the ongoing sustainment and operations of network technologies and infrastructure within the Department of Parliamentary Services. As a Network Operations Officer, you will be responsible for proactively responding to moderately complex incidents, identifying environmental issues, monitoring systems and resolving problems, implementing changes and other IT service management processes across the operations of parliamentary network capabilities. The roles will participate in and contribute to operations and project work relating to network infrastructure, including switches, local area network (LAN) cabling, software-defined (SD) wide area network (WAN), cloud networking and wireless technologies. You will liaise with senior engineers, operations management and project managers whilst demonstrating initiative in the application of network procedures and delivery of projects. You will contribute to the installation and configuration of network hardware and software for the Parliamentary local area network (LAN) as well as monitor network performance, availability and capacity. Who we are looking for As Network Operations Officer PSL6, your key responsibilities will be: Investigating network related incidents, planning and implementing changes and contributing to effective security and operations of ICT network technologies with the Parliamentary ICT Networks. Accurately logging incidents with detailed records and notes. Proactively take responsibility for network incidents and requests assigned to the Network Operations team. Undertaking installation of network hardware and cabling, as well as testing and troubleshooting connectivity issues. Working on network related projects, create and implement standard, normal and emergency network changes across the Parliamentary local area network. Communicating effectively, managing relationships, responding to phone enquires and engaging with the Parliamentary ICT service desk to resolve user issues. As Network Operations Officer PSL5, your key responsibilities will be: Supporting the investigation of network related incidents, implementing moderately complex changes. Participating in effective security and operations of ICT network technologies with the Parliamentary ICT Networks. Accurately logging incidents with detailed records and notes. Proactively take responsibility for network incidents and requests assigned to the Network Operations team. Working as part of team responsible for the installation of network hardware and cabling, as well as testing and troubleshooting connectivity issues. Participating in operational planning for network infrastructure, contribute to the implementation of standard, normal and emergency network changes across the Parliamentary local area network. Communicating effectively, managing relationships, responding to phone enquires and engaging with the Parliamentary ICT service desk to resolve user issues.
