About the role As a Digital Assistant Category Manager at Coles Group, you will report directly to the Senior Digital Category Manager and work closely with our Digital Category Managers. Holding ownership of 2 portfolios, you will drive the growth of profitable category sales through a customer-centric approach. You will play a key role in executing the online category strategy, focusing on optimising the digital offer to meet customer needs and maximise margin performance. Your responsibilities will include managing trade and promotional planning, providing estimates and forecasts, and assisting in the development of promotional activities within your assigned category area. Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships will be crucial to ensuring the success of ongoing trade plans and promotions. Additionally, you will contribute to the growth and execution of strategies for the CFC Production rooms, supporting the broader digital transformation of Coles. About you and your skills Experience working in entry level or first tier capacity at a customer-centric FMCG and/or retail environment. Experience obtaining and working with customer analytics and insights. Strong commercial acumen with experience applying this to interpret industry dynamics and competitive retail landscape. Knowledge of merchandising function and processes (pricing, promotions, etc.) (supply chain, marketing, etc.). Strong analytical skills demonstrated through proactively sourcing customer insights and data to formulate category recommendations (e.g. range, pricing etc.). Proven ability to swiftly adjust as required to deal with the rapidly changing environment. Experienced in supplier relationships. Can work within a regulatory framework that sets out behavioural and process guidelines. Viewed as a respected, trusted and collaborative team member.
