Eurofins Agro Testing is an accredited Agricultural testing laboratory that specialises in Soil, Plant and Water testing with laboratories located in Hindmarsh South Australia, Belmont Western Australia and Burleigh Heads Queensland. Our client base includes farmers, agronomists, rural retailers and research organisations with our samples originating from all across Australia.
Job Description
* Fixed term and casual positions available
* Operating hours Monday to Friday 7am - 11pm
* Immediate start or November/December start dates available
* Fixed term (37.5hrs/wk, 3-4 month contracts) hourly rate $25.80 + super, leave accrual
* Casual roles attract 25% loading
* Based in Hindmarsh, South Australia
As a Sample Preparation Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the laboratory function by ensuring all samples are appropriately receipted, sorted, and prepared in a timely manner to achieve operational, customer and quality requirements.
Reporting to the Sample Receipt & Preparation Supervisor, the role will focus on:
* Grinding of soils & plant samples as well as accurately splitting soil samples
* Fine grinding soils using specialised equipment
* Working in the fast-paced sample receipt and preparation area
* Loading trolleys for the sample drying process
* Ensuring samples are completed in a timely manner and correct methods, procedures and work instructions are adhered to
* Able to complete all quality control records in accordance with quality requirements and work instructions
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of their work area and processes as well as the overall efficiency and effectiveness of laboratory operations
Qualifications
What we are looking for in individuals to join our team
* Physically fit and comfortable with manual tasks, grinding of samples and lifting up to 7kg repetitively
* Ability to follow procedures with absolute attention to detail
* Willing to work as part of a team with emphasis on quality and safety
* Excellent numeracy, written and oral communication skills
* Great organisational skills and ability to multi-task
Experience in a commercial sample preparation laboratory would be advantageous but not a requirement to be successful in this role.
Rather, previous experience working in a fast-paced environment (e.g., fast food/hospitality/warehouse) would be highly regarded/beneficial for this role.
