Key Responsibilities: Conduct detailed field surveys and assessments of plant communities in various ecosystems throughout Western Australia. Identify and document plant species, including rare and endangered species, contributing to biodiversity inventories. Design and implement research projects related to plant ecology, conservation, and habitat restoration. Analyse and interpret ecological data, preparing comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders. Collaborate with environmental scientists, ecologists, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and policies. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff. Stay updated on the latest botanical research and conservation techniques, contributing to ongoing professional development. About you: A degree in Botany, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in botany, plant ecology, or related research roles, with a focus on Western Australian flora. Proficiency in plant identification and knowledge of local ecosystems. Experience with GIS and ecological data analysis software is highly advantageous. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
