Based in Adelaide, with a new branch at Willunga where this position will be based, Mechanical Vegetation Solutions is an established and respected provider of Arboricultural and other services to Government, Councils, Civil, Commercial and private clients. MVS Group also have an operating firewood plant and harvesting areas.
The Fleet Manager supports the Service Manager and Project Coordinator by contributing to the preparation and coordination of all light and heavy vehicles / equipment to support our daily operations. The Fleet Manager contributes to improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of the business through efficient work practices, attention to detail and accurate recording of information. The MVS Group offers a competitive salary which will be negotiated based on experience and will offer a car allowance and fuel card to the successful applicant.
Our ideal candidate will be required to:
1. Ensure all plant and equipment is maintained in good operational condition.
2. Action and repair all breakdowns in a timely manner.
3. Coordinate service intervals for all plant and equipment as required.
4. Liaise with machinery operators, crews, and suppliers to ensure jobs have the materials and equipment they need to perform their tasks.
5. Maintain office records and update job status as required to ensure information is current. This includes entering information in MVS software systems (SIMPRO and SkyTrust).
6. Ensure stock of spares and consumables are maintained for day-to-day operations.
7. Assist the purchasing team as required.
8. Participate in activities that contribute to the safe and clean condition of the yard.
9. Conduct plant audits on a crew and report in SkyTrust.
10. Assist with yard traffic management, including parking plans for returning vehicles/equipment.
11. Report any incident as per the MVS incident guidelines.
12. Conduct visual inspections daily of all plant returned to the yard.
13. Have a continuous improvement mindset to engineer solutions for bespoke equipment.
14. Perform any other tasks as reasonably requested.
15. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
16. Excellent verbal and written communication.
17. Adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness in a changing environment.
18. Ability to problem solve.
19. Ability to prioritize competing tasks.
Additionally, the below would be advantageous, however not essential:
1. Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental and AS/NZ 45001 Safety Management Standards.
2. Experience with job scheduling software (Simpro).
3. Experience with safety management software (SkyTrust).
4. CPCCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White card).
5. Commitment to continuous improvement.
MVS works locally in Adelaide and across the Hills districts, however co-ordination of remote sites will be required.
