Anglo American Steelmaking Coal Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia. Job Description As the Conveyor Coordinator, you will be responsible for the coordination of the conveyor install team and resources where our Aquila Mine won the Outstanding Mine Performance category at the 2023 Australian Mining Prospect Awards. Aquila Mine is situated in Middlemount, Queensland where you will find a local community looking to expand and grow its people. This role will see you accountable for: Provide safe, efficient and reliable mechanical engineering services to the Maintenance & Engineering department Provide technical support to the conveyor install team by coordinating resources, utilising the work order system and organising the supply and availability of equipment Manage conveyor install and design to ensure projects are adequately planned by developing technical specifications, procedures, material and services requirements, labour and skill requirements and all other mine compliance obligations Assist in achieving agreed maintenance plans and targets for engineering projects, procurement and disposal of equipment Coordinate the Conveyor overhaul and installations to meet mine schedule Develop project schedule for all conveyor installs, retrieval and any overhaul work Provide input to mine planning meetings to ensure plans are developed to mitigate production delays due to conveyor installation and retrieval Identify root causes of major down time, accidents, non-compliances to schedules, statutory requirements and assists with the implementation of appropriate remedial actions in conjunction with internal and external resources Ensure compliance with all people, safety, technical, operating and business systems, behaviours and culture in your area Collaborate and build strong relationships across a range of both internal and external stakeholders Qualifications Mechanical Trade qualification essential or higher tertiary education desirable Previous experience in a mining maintenance role (preferably Coal) or heavy industry Previous experience with Conveyor systems is desirable Demonstrated experience leading a team of professionals to deliver against set targets Experience in driving best practise through your department and into the business. This includes the development and implementation of strategy in line with business goals.
