Unleash your potential and #MakeADifference!Operating from within the State Land Management unit within the Natural Resource Operations team you will plan, supervise and/or undertake risk management tasks on state land managed by the department. We strengthen regional and rural economies by supporting job creation, diversification, and infrastructure development, collaborating closely with local communities to address their unique needs.About the role:Assist with the development and implementation of fire and pest risk management strategies for lands managed by the department.Oversee and participate in the delivery of programs to meet departmental obligations including liaising with other government agencies and community groups to pool resources to conduct risk reduction activities.Supervise departmental staff and contractors engaged in land management and maintenance activities.Conduct site inspections for the purposes of land dealings and compliance under the Land Act 1994.Maintain positive working relationships with other business units, agencies and stakeholders.Action emergency response procedures as directed by the Senior Land Officer, including natural disaster contingency plans, wildfire response procedures and participate in multi-disciplinary incident management teams.Perform and assist others in public contact duties, including responding to enquiries and providing accurate information and guidance to stakeholders regarding legislation, policies, procedures and services.Participate in and contribute to a safe and effective team-working environment, providing supervision, on-the-job training, and mentoring to support staff.What we're looking for:C class manual driver's licence is essential, and experience driving four-wheel drive vehicles is desirable.Qualifications relevant to fire and pest management strategies and methodologies are highly regarded.Land management and Traditional Owner engagement experience is highly desirable.Travel away from the centre will be required (including travel to remote locations).
