Mobile Heavy Duty Maintenance SupervisorAustralian Garnet (AGPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Resource Development Group Limited (RDG), has been operating our brand-new garnet processing plant, the Lucky Bay Mine for the past 2 years. Our onsite team is responsible for the mining, wet processing, dry and packaging plants, then packed into containers and transported to Perth. The management team and workforce are directly employed by AGPL and the mine site is located approximately 35 kilometres from the Kalbarri township, with a mine life of over 40 years. This is an exciting project.We are currently looking to employ a permanent experienced Mobile Heavy Diesel Maintenance Supervisor to work at our Lucky Bay mine site.This is a 2 week on 1 week off fly in fly out roster from Perth. For candidates that live locally in the Geraldton, Northampton or Kalbarri region, there are other roster options available.PRIMARY PURPOSE :Take full responsibility of the workshop, liaise with the onsite Project Managers and other senior members of the project teams. Supervise all the workforce including Fitters and Maintenance Personnel to ensure the company owned equipment is well maintained and in good working order.Ensure that parts requisitions are produced to allow parts to be ordered in a timely manner using a “hands on” approach and that the work areas are kept tidy, organized, and clean.Key responsibilities include :Allocate & ensure works are completed timely and to a standard on company owned equipment.Oversee the cleanliness of maintenance and site facilities and keep them organized.Ensure that work is done safely and that safety is emphasized and observed by all employees.Lead and allocate work on specific items of equipment, in line with the priority of the item of equipment required onsite.Produce a list of work required on each machine, with assistance from the fitters.Produce requisitions for workshop parts in advance of when they are required.Be responsible for the timekeeping and productivity of your team.Supervise people and provide sound leadership and direction to the team.Ensure a clean and safe work environment is maintained and apply continuous improvement.Be safety and process-focused and willing to improve existing processes.Identify areas for suitable improvements, innovations, and cost solutions.Maintain the overall appearance of company equipment to the highest standard, including signage.Supervise and coordinate any 3rd party specialist providers engaged to carry out repairs to company equipment.Use Pronto to ensure all plant and equipment records are maintained, including location, operating data (hours / km), service history, etc.Progress all requests for plant and equipment as approved for project requirements.Work with the company Asset Manager and project team to arrange transport of plant and equipment being delivered to various sites and returned to the Newman yard.Ensure compliance with internal reporting requirements including HSE, payroll, financial, production, and submitting reports as requested by senior management.Issue plant and equipment status reports to the Mine Manager weekly.Necessary skills and qualifications :Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.Relevant trade qualifications, i.e., Heavy Diesel Fitting.High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.Current C Class Drivers licence; HR Licence advantageous.Construction Industry Awareness Card.Proficient in using Microsoft Suite and Pronto.SKILLS & ABILITIES :Strong technical skills in vehicle and heavy mobile plant maintenance & repair.Solid organisational and time management skills.High level of communication skills with people at all levels of the business.Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and National Police Clearance.Strong communication and negotiation skills; able to set and achieve targets for internal customers and the maintenance team.What we offer you :Competitive remuneration.A truly inclusive, high functioning & supportive team environment.The opportunity to make a real difference in the local community.We are looking for a safety-focused team player who has a desire to become a highly valued member of our small operations team.
