We are currently looking to appoint a Head Chef to work in our production kitchen at our hospital. The Head Chef is employed to supervise daily operations including the performance of catering team members- experience with managing staff is essential. You will manage the food productions for patient feeding in a safe and efficient manner supporting and promoting our safety culture framework. Primary responsibility is the development of menus, supporting and managing nutrition requirements across a range of patient dietary needs in conjunction with Hospital based Dietetics Team. You will support our team of cooks to prepare, cook and serve high quality food for patients, while maintaining high levels of patient and client satisfaction, in conjunction with the contractual requirements of the site. The Head Chef must ensure that all tasks associated with food production, front and back of house services and general support are performed with compliance for all Health and Safety and Food Safety regulations as required. It is essential that these tasks be performed in conjunction with the contractual requirements of the Unit.
This is a hands-on full-time position (Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work) requiring the successful applicant to be a confident, motivated and focused professional.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
1. Manage food service operations and deliver professional service
2. Oversee the preparing and presenting of food whilst adhering to Site Food Safety Plan including allergens and therapeutic meals
3. Follow Safe food handling procedures
4. Provide specialised service in a Healthcare environment
5. Lead, train and manage people
6. Plan and control 2 wk menu cycle which includes ACI guidelines against pre agreed budget
7. Work with colleagues and customers
8. Demonstrate exemplary communication skills
9. Follow company policies and procedures
10. Perform other duties within capabilities as required by line Manager
