The Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Company Accountant to join our team within our head office in Wagga Wagga (relocation assistance is available to successful applicants if required).
The Company Accountant is responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining accurate financial records, and safeguarding the company's financial stability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Budgeting - Creating and monitoring budgets to control spending and plan for future financial needs.
* Cash Flow Management - Ensure sufficient liquidity to meet day-to-day expenses and obligations.
* Cost Control - Identify areas to reduce expenses and improve profitability.
* General Bookkeeping - Processing bank reconciliations, maintenance of receivables and payables, general ledger.
Regulatory Compliance - Ensure the company complies with tax laws, financial reporting standards, and legal requirements including BAS, GST, PAYG, Annual Payment Summaries, Payroll Tax, etc.
Financial Reporting - Prepare financial statements and provide management with regular financial updates to inform decision-making.
Asset Management - Processing and coordinating building and maintenance requests, insurance renewals and claims for buildings, company motor vehicles, travel, etc.
Payroll - Oversee fortnightly payroll and superannuation processing, and act as a back up to the Payroll Officer during periods of leave.
About You:
* Accounting qualification or relevant industry experience.
* Available to work full-time Monday to Friday (with an early finish on Fridays).
* Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite.
* Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
* A proactive approach to establishing new financial systems and improving existing systems.
