About Department The general medical service caters for all adult internal medicine patients, including the stabilisation and transfer of all major cases and patients requiring subspecialty care.The Emergency Department provides a 24/7 service, supported by admitted patient services in general medicine, general surgery, intensive care medicine, paediatrics and obstetrics/gynaecology. About the Role This role is that of an Advanced Trainee in General Medicine undertaking 12 months of accredited training (6 months core General Medicine and 6 months Core Related General Medicine).The position is to provide appropriate exposure and experience to enable the doctor to attain the required skills and knowledge as an Advanced Trainee.The Advanced Trainee assists and supports Registrars in the management of medical patients admitted as inpatients.Advanced trainees also work in various medical outpatient clinics to provide appropriate patient care to all patients referred for a consult in a timely manner. Mandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience MBBS or equivalent degree enabling General registration with the Medical Board of Australia Satisfactory completion of the FRACP Written Examination +/- the Clinical Examination and are eligible to progress to Provisional Advanced Training Registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) - (note - eligible applicants will be assisted through this process if not currently registered).
