Seeking a Network Engineer for a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-profile project requiring expert network engineering capabilities.
Position Overview:
As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the operations of department 2024 project, encompassing the maintenance and upkeep of new infrastructure, technical delivery of the project, and seamless integration with existing departmental ICT systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in guaranteeing the stability, availability, and optimized performance of the project's networking environment.
The successful candidate will have a proven background in network management and operations as well as a range of generalist network engineering skills, and will be able to work collaboratively with business, other system owners and administrators to progress initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure stable, available, and optimized project networking.
• Review and audit firewall rules, consolidating as needed.
• Contribute to solution design with Architects and CTO.
• Produce and review project documentation, including Architecture, Designs, and Operating Procedures.
• Coordinate projects under CTO and ICT PMO guidance.
Demonstrated requirements:
• Capability to scope, plan and execute on small projects – including managing, risks and issues, approvals and the balancing of multiple competing priorities.
• Knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM), the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), and other International Standards (ISO’s).
• Skills in network engineering – including configuration, trouble shooting, service and security management tools for routing and switch platforms.
• Advanced skills in the following technologies:
o A range of vendor firewall solutions, including Palo Alto and/or Cisco ASAs.
o Applying firewall and route/switch policy as applicable to a multiple security classification environment.
o Centralised management and monitoring tools for firewalls and network devices
• Experience in some or most of the following is highly desirable:
o VMware NSX
o FireEye
o Cisco
o Juniper
o Palo Alto
