HOUSEKEEPING ASSISTANT MANAGER - Reef View Hotel An exciting opportunity for an experienced Housekeeping Assistant Manager has become available, to work within our fantastic resort housekeeping team.The Housekeeping Assistant Manager will report to the Assistant Executive Housekeeper and will be responsible for the training and leadership of their team to ensure all guest rooms and suites are cleaned promptly and efficiently, to our high standards.In addition you will be involved in the administrative duties that contribute to the smooth running of the department.As part of this team you will enjoy working in a close-knit social environment, in a culture where your talent and achievements will be recognised.Benefits include an attractive base salary or wage and subsidised accommodation paid out of pre-tax earnings.You will also enjoy the perks of working on the island such as discounted gym facilities, staff bar and café with extended opening hours, staff discounts on a range of water sports, activities, and all of the island's restaurants.Your RoleTo assist the Executive Housekeeper in ensuring high standards of organisation and presentation of properties, outdoor areas, public and service areas.Provide direction to all housekeeping employees to ensure standards are maintained and to liaise with all HIHH departments to ensure properties are cleaned and maintained to a high standardYou will also: Manage all operations of the Housekeeping departmentOn occasion deputise for the Executive Housekeeper and perform their duties as per requirementsAssist with the recruitment, training and performance evaluations of employees in accordance with company policies, standards of excellence and valuesMonitor employee performance and conduct performance appraisals to initiate appropriate training and developmentMaintain cost control, ordering and receiving systems for cleaning, linen and supplies inventoryOversee daily inspections of properties to ensure procedures are followed and quality outcomes achievedLiaise with housekeeping coordinator in regard to readiness of rooms with particular attention to guest's special requirements and VIP roomsAttend to major operational problems and needs promptly including customer complaints, enquiries and requests.Practice positive problem solving in all aspects of customer serviceAnswer all correspondence and enquiries received during the working week within 24 hours of receipt; maintain good public relations with customers and HIE departmentsEnsure rosters are checked and amended if needed daily to efficient use of manpowerReport and coordinate any damage or repairs needed to housekeeping coordinator, and ensure that vehicles are clean and maintained About YouYou will have excellent personal presentation, superior communication and interpersonal skills.You love what you do and do it well.You understand that great service requires team work and you have a strong ability and demonstrated experience managing, leading and motivating a team.You will have: Previous Supervisory experience with a 4 or 5 star hotel environment (Essential)Demonstrated knowledge of housekeeping requirements and procedures (Essential)Current open / unrestricted driver's license (Essential)Certificate III or IV in Hospitality Operations, or equivalent (Desirable)
