The National Event Manager will deliver the strategic, administrative and operational requirements across multiple events. The role will work collaboratively with the Australian Sports Commission, Paralympics Australia, State and Territory Associations, and multiple other key stakeholders. REPORTING Reports to: TTA CEO Direct Reports: Nil Works closely with: General Manager - Operations and Community TTA Events, Education and Membership Lead General Manager - National Para Program Program Manager - National Able body Program RESPONSIBILITIES Events In consultation with TTA staff and key stakeholders, develop annually a National Calendar of Events (Para and Able Bodied). Work with relevant parties to help secure sponsorship for key national & inter-national events. Work with appointed hosting bodies to ensure appropriate standards for key national & inter-national events. Para specific events With assistance from the General Manager (Para), ITTF and an appointed organising committee to apply for, organise and conduct the yearly ITTF Aus Para Open Factor 20 event. Assist the General Manager (Para) to oversee the event budgets relating to Para events, including setting, monitoring and acquittals. Provide assistance to the General Manager (Para) on operational and administrative requirements for National Para Program event and activities. Other events Work with the ITTF, ITTF-Oceania and any appointed TTA Event Partners to identify and bid for International events to be hosted by Australia. This may include WTT Youth Contender Events, WTT Feeder events, ITTF-Oceania Masters Championships, ITTF-Oceania Para Championships amongst others. With assistance from the Program Manager (Able body), ITTF and an appointed organising committee to organise and conduct International able body events. Assist with delivering the administrative and operational requirements of the TTA owned events (National Championships, TTA Tours) Provide recommendations for continuous improvement across the TTA event portfolio Work with key stakeholders to agree and implement event requirements across Eligibility, Event processes, and Event formats General duties Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders as required. Oversight and management of the budget and financial performance of all TTA owned and operated events. Maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the sport. Ensure Child Safe environments are provided across all programs and competitions in all States and Territories. Adherence to all TTA policies and procedures. Given the nature of this role and the sports industry in general, evenings and weekend work will be required. REMUNERATION Negotiated based on skills and experience. LOCATION This role will preferably be based in Victoria. Working from another State or Territory may be considered for the right candidate. This role will require interstate travel. SELECTION CRITERIA In addition to demonstrating relevant experience across the Responsibilities identified in this Position Description, the National Event Manager role will require a broad range of personal and professional skills, including: QUALIFICATIONS/ACCREDITATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Tertiary qualifications in sports management, sport and recreation or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent experience. Working with children check or be willing to obtain. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to initiate, plan, coordinate and drive the implementation of agreed KPI's. Ability to develop and implement national level program plans. Demonstrated evidence of understanding national and international events and event trends An ability to engage all facets of the community Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including research, report writing and presentations. Demonstrated financial acumen and a proven ability to maximise limited resources. Experience in working in the sporting sector and/or the not for profit sector. Experience in working with volunteers Proven facilitation and problem solving skills. Proven ability to prioritise and organise individual workload to achieve outcomes, on time and within budget.
