Nurse Manager - Director of Nursing & Midwifery - Griffith Employment Type: Permanent Full TimePosition Classification: Nurse Manager - Grade 6Remuneration: $162,943.24 - $165,552.17 per annum (+ super + 17.5% leave loading where applicable)Hours Per Week:38Requisition ID:REQ537429Applications Close: 18 December 2024An opportunity exists for a motivated and driven senior leader to join the team as the Director Nursing and Midwifery Services in rural NSW at Griffith.The DNMS is a member of the executive team, providing leadership and is responsible for the overall management and clinical practice of Nursing & Midwifery Services at Griffith Base Hospital.About the Role:As the Nursing and Midwifery leader at Griffith Base Hospital you will bring vision and clarity to your role, be a great communicator, self-directed, with an ability to inspire, motivate and support people to reach their full potential.Each day you challenge yourself to uphold the vision of the Nursing and Midwifery service to provide compassionate care through leading effective work cultures in line with MLHD Our People Our Future model.Key Responsibilities:Provide effective leadership, governance and operational management for Nursing and Midwifery Services at the facility, ensuring procedure, practice, professional development and research are planned, delivered and evaluated in line with MLHD strategic priorities.Supervise, coordinate and manage the nursing and midwifery services and/or operations to ensure the delivery of high quality consistent patient care, efficient use of resources and staff who conform to all contemporary practice standards.Foster and maintain close professional relationships with relevant clinical managers, peers and District managers to achieve organisational goals.Deliver high level financial, human resource and risk management practice and participate in the Executive On Call, assisting the After Hours Nurse management team with patient flow, KPI and incident execution.Requirements:Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Senior nursing management experience in an acute hospital setting with Post Graduate qualifications in management, leadership or equivalent; or working towards same.Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.Demonstrated ability to lead through vision and articulate the potential for the organisation.Demonstrated ability to develop an environment which promotes continuous improvement in practice and patient outcomes.Demonstrated ability to represent and negotiate on behalf of nursing and midwifery, and appropriately consult with staff and other health professionals through utilising a broad range of communication skills selectively in a variety of settings.Demonstrated ability to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance to identify opportunities to realise enhanced performance.Demonstrated ability to analyse and implement organisational change, financial management, risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.Evidence of a current Class C driver's license and ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.
