Job Description
Reporting to the GM Finance, your role will include:
* Implementing a project cost control discipline, in conjunction with the operational business, to tightly manage against budgets, forecasts, and commitments, with capital projects across the Divisions.
* Business partnering with other key departments.
* Generation of reporting of key KPI's on an ongoing monthly basis including cost to complete assessments and providing recommendations where forecast spend is expected to exceed budget.
* Actively participating in capital allocation, providing timely advice and rationale for how the annual capital spend is allocated to which projects.
* Forecasting annual depreciation and amortisation profile and scenario planning for different capex options or changes in policy.
* Ensuring that financial policies, procedures and internal controls are effectively implemented and a robust financial control environment is in place.
* Ensuring appropriate coding structures are maintained within the ERP including capitalisation of projects, closing projects, taking responsibility for the accuracy, completeness and timely records of the project/program cost elements and Fixed Asset Register maintenance.
* Leading project/program cost attribution with regard to month-end financial close processes, timely invoice processing and raising, accruals and cost transfers, monitoring and reviewing aged accruals, monthly financial performance monitoring/reporting, undertaking variance analysis and advising project/program leads on financial risks and appropriate resolution.
* Other ad hoc tasks.
The Successful Applicant
We are seeking either:
* Experienced finance professionals with significant exposure to capital expenditure accounting (ideally with a large spend per annum). Those from a Mining/Construction/Manufacturing background will be looked upon favourably. OR
* First time movers from big 4 Accounting firms.
The role requires candidates with excellent communication and business partnering skills.
