AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic III Site Lead
The AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic III Site Lead performs the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance and maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of complex to extreme difficulty.
Key Responsibilities:
* Interface with operational customer to develop flying schedules and plan major maintenance events, completes daily and monthly operational reports, documents inventory usage, controls workflow.
* Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
* Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
* Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals.
* Make entries in aircraft logs and records, and responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.
Requirements:
* High school Diploma or equivalent required.
* U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired, certification of education level is required.
* Five (5) or more years of aviation maintenance experience within the past six (6) years on the AH-64 Mission design series (MDS).
* Experience in maintenance, modification and repair of tactical aircraft systems of the AH-64 and their associated components.
* Valid FAA Airframe & Power plant (A&P) License for mechanics and Sheetmetal is preferred.
* Must be in possession of a U.S. Passport and be able to travel internationally with a minimum of 6 blank pages and 2 plus years validity on expiration date of passport at the time of hiring.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government SECRET Clearance is required.
* US Citizenship is required for SECRET clearance at this work location.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
* Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.
* Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
* Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
* May be required to lift heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds.
* Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications.
* Will handle dirty parts and lubricants.
* Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
* Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.
* May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc.
