THE ROLE
Reporting to the National Safety Manager Safety Health & Sustainability (SHS) this exciting role will be responsible for delivery and contribution to the sites safety management plans and key objectives. The SHS Advisor will work with the site leadership team and Division SHS Team to execute our strategic and operational plans and driving behavioural safety change across the business, and day to day support and advice to a variety of stakeholder’s.

Specific Responsibilities:
· Assist site personnel in the development of site and task specific risk assessments, operational procedures and work instruction and conduct ongoing reviews of the effectiveness and compliance to risk control measures.
· Develop and/or review the site induction with the respect to both Qube and owner requirements when working on common user sites and with the perspective of employees potentially coming from a varying range of backgrounds.
· Liaise with third party site representatives (Port Authorities, client reps etc) and regulatory bodies for the purposes of undertaking investigations, obtaining key information, conducting joint risk assessments and communicating the Qube SHS Management Plan.
· Drive the established SHS consultation and communications processes, including the WHS Representatives, WHS Committees, and toolbox meetings.
· Provide the site with leadership and assistance in the development of a safety culture and environment which is consistent across all safety-critical functions.
· Develop, implement and monitor the site SHS Management Plans to meet the site performance targets and meet the Business and Corporate requirements.
· Establish, implement and monitor an inspection and audit programme for the sites including all maritime safety requirements, mentor staff in the carrying out of these activities.
· Implement the change management standard when processes change on site and ensure that all change management objectives are meet and complied with.
· Provide advice and support to the site manager ensuring that all legislative and legal obligations are adhered to in regards to WHS and workers compensation.
· Lead, mentor and coach site operations staff on SHS accountabilities to ensure that SHSMS is being implemented effectively on site.
· Providing support to site based management on RTW and Injury Management.
· Undertake analysis of the site SHS performance, identifying trends and follow-up initiatives to address identified current or emerging trends.
· Compile high quality and accurate monthly reporting on SHS performance.
· Provide ongoing advice on best practice SHS by stying current with regulatory and industry SHS matters including legislation, codes of practice, standards and other shared resources.

· Follow the requirements of the SHSMS documentation including Rules, Procedures and Instructions
· Identify system shortcomings and opportunities for improvement
Be Prepared To Work Safely
· Report to duty in a fit state, free from fatigue the influence of alcohol or other drugs
· Wear required Personal Protective Equipment and operate plant equipment safely
· Participate in consultation activities regarding matters affecting your health, safety and welfare
· Participate in relevant SHS training and maintaining your SHS related competencies
· Engage in Work only when in possession of required and current Certificates of Competence
Qualifications and Experience:
· Tertiary qualifications in OHS/WHS.
· A minimum of five years leading on an operational SHS environment.
· Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM).
· Experience in the implementation and management of safety management systems.
· Identification and implementation of effective SHS initiatives.
· Ability to develop tactical plans to address safety issues.
· Heavy industry experience (mobile plant, lifting) preferred.
· Return to Work Coordinator.
