About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mid-Level Business Development Manager to join our Sydney-based business development and sales team. This role will focus on growing our institutional client base by working closely with the Head of Institutional Sales.

Key Responsibilities:
* Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients, including superannuation funds, asset managers, private banks, and asset consultants.
* Investment Process Understanding: Have an excellent understanding of the investment process for actively managed funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), as well as the ongoing management of underlying assets.
* Asset Class Knowledge: Understand various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and alternative assets.
* Product Structure Expertise: Familiarity with plain-vanilla product structures and complex product structures that utilize derivatives.
* Sales Campaigns: Develop and execute effective and measurable sales campaigns to promote our products and services.
* Investment Strategy: Collaborate with fund manager selection teams and asset allocation teams to develop investment strategies.
* Financial Analysis: Monitor the financial performance of underlying companies in which our funds invest.
* Portfolio Performance: Ensure our funds perform in line with investment objectives and remain within their mandate.
* Fund Distributions: Understand the components of fund distributions.
* Internal Collaboration: Liaise with internal colleagues, including the Portfolio Management and Investment Strategy Teams.
* Client Education: Promote client education on ETF capital markets.

Qualifications:
* Educational Background: Degree level or equivalent qualification.
* Industry Experience: A minimum of 4 years' experience in the asset management industry, with roles such as Sales Support, BDM, or RM.
* ETF Knowledge: Practical knowledge of ETFs and general market structure.
* Decision-Making Ability: Ability to make decisions and act quickly in a high-pressure environment.
* Specialized Software Skills: Experience using specialized financial software, such as Morningstar Direct.
* Excel Modeling: Experience developing Excel models and using other Office applications.
