Position summary Join our dynamic team as a Senior Structural Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering technical engineering solutions for a diverse portfolio. Based in Perth, you'll report to the Location department manager and collaborate closely with the resource suscap portfolio lead engineer to manage resource demands across various sites. Your expertise will drive the design and documentation of steel and concrete structures, while you lead and mentor junior engineers. You'll coordinate multidisciplinary scopes, manage vendor relationships, and ensure project deliverables meet stringent specifications on time and within budget. Your role will also involve performing site inspections, preparing engineering studies, and participating in key meetings to support project execution. About the role Support the delivery of technical engineering deliverables for the client portfolio, ensuring compliance with clients customer, and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget. Coordinate and manage resource demand from various sites in collaboration with the Perth-based resource suscap portfolio lead engineer. Design and document steel and concrete structures, directing and supervising junior engineers from local and workshare offices. Scope, develop engineering cost estimates, and manage the execution of Worley's workshare office. Perform site inspections as required and support vendor management. Participate in meetings and workshops such as HAZID, Design Review, and Constructability review meetings. Prepare progress reports, input to project schedules, and identify project changes, preparing change reports as per project change management processes. Gather data from multiple sources to prepare engineering studies, analyses, and calculations. Support the technical development of solutions and create final documentation for project deliverables. Assist in coordinating multidisciplinary scopes and present designs in design review meetings with the team and client. Prepare material requisitions and Scope of Works, participate in bid clarifications, conduct bid evaluations, and finalize certification activities. Support the structural drafting team to deliver projects and resolve discrepancies between Worley and customer requirements. Maintain effective communication with the structural engineering team and project stakeholders, including the customer. About the candidate Bachelor of Structural/Civil Engineering degree with extensive experience in structural engineering design in the brownfield mining and/or oil & gas industry. Proficiency in using Australian design codes and previous experience in leading a small design team. Ability to undertake regular travel to refinery sites. Capability to work independently and as part of a team, with experience in diverse team environments. Previous experience with performing site inspections is advantageous. Highly driven with a focus on delivery and service, possessing sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements. Competence in Spacegass and common steel connection design software, with a keen attitude to learn new design tools and project delivery modes. Familiarity with alumina refinery or similar industry is desirable but not essential. Agility in working with multiple platforms and environments, including the use of the 365 suite and various other collaboration tools. Strong skills in steel and concrete detail design, engineering cost estimation, multidisciplinary scope coordination, and vendor management.
